There’s nothing better than following a morning of ocean activities with a satisfying sandwich. Kihei is known for its wide variety of eateries, including a slew of just-off-the-beach lunch options. We’ve rounded up our top five Kihei lunch locales, below.
Voted “Best Local Sandwich” every year since 2008 by Maui Time Weekly’s annual reader poll, 808 Deli takes the top spot for Kihei’s best lunch. 808 Deli’s small Kihei location is easy to overlook, tucked into a corner of the shopping center across from Kamaole Beach Park II. Menu offerings include specialty sandwiches, paninis (don’t miss the Red Rooster, made with turkey, bacon and sriracha aioli), salads and gourmet hot dogs. 808 Deli also calls for a lunchtime dessert with their irresistible variety of fresh-made puddings (think: banana, chocolate peanut butter, pistachio, and more).

Nutcharee Case received a big “Mahalo” from South Maui residents when she brought her talents from the secluded town of Hana to comparatively bustling South Kihei. Now, you can skip the two hour drive along the Hana highway and hop over to the unassuming spot at the Akeza Shopping Center to experience some of the most authentic Thai cuisine in the middle of the Pacific. Nutcharee’s is open for lunch from 10am-3pm and again for dinner starting at 5pm.
